You all know I like to spread the gospel about supporting writers, journalists, and publishers at this tough time for the industry. Well, I participated in a wonderful new book out called Surfer Stories: 12 Untold Stories By 12 Writers About 12 of the Greatest Surfers. I wrote a chapter about surfing as a salve for our tears. I rode my first wave during a time in life when my four favorite men died in separate, unrelated incidents. I write about how pro surfer Robert Weaver, or Wingnut, helped me through the haze of sadness that defined that period of my life.
